CP Smith End of Year Picnic Potluck
Can you believe the end of the school year is here?!
Join us at the CP smith End of Year Picnic Potluck to celebrate all the learning, fun, and community-building that the 2025-2026 year has delivered!
This event will take place on Friday, June 5th from 5:30-7:00pm on the CP Smith School grounds, near the lower grades playground.
We need a lot of volunteers to make this school-wide event happen! Especially if you have not signed up to volunteer for a PTO-led event yet this year, please click here and add your name to the list to make this event a roaring success. Volunteer tasks:
Bring a dish (cold, hot, dessert) to share for the potluck
Shift 1: 4:30-5:30: event set-up
Shift 2: 5:30-6:30: help serve food, monitor and replenish supplies
Shift 3: 6:30-7:30: finish serving, clean up and break down the event
The CP Smith PTO will provide hot dogs, veggie dogs, and popsicles for the event.
Please consider bringing your own plateware, utensils, and full water bottles to reduce our single-use item waste.
Lake Monsters Game 2- CP Smith Fundraiser
There will be two opportunities this spring to support the school while also cheering on our Vermont Lake Monsters at Centennial Field!
This is the second game: Wednesday, June 10th, 6:35pm against the Worcester Bravehearts.

Tickets are $9.50 each (with fees). Tickets MUST be purchased at least 24 hours in advance of the game in order for CP Smith PTO to receive a donation.
Tickets are Located in Section 103 of the Grandstand section (Seen in yellow on the seating map).
To purchase your seats, please follow the steps below
Click on the green "Purchase" button on the ticketing page
Select the number of seats you would like under "quantity", then select " Find Tickets"
To view or change where your seats are located within Section 103, click "Show Section"
The blue circles are available seats. To select a seat, click a blue circle to display a green check mark.

CP Smith Fun Run
Our annual Fun Run is a wonderful opportunity to stretch and move our bodies together out on the CP Smith grounds as we say goodbye to winter and hello to spring!
A .5km (half kilometer) course will be laid out with flagging and after a group warm-up we’ll line up at the starting line for a 9:30am run start. All are welcome to participate and there is no set pace (walking, jogging, running - whatever!). Each lap earns a colored bracelet and each individual choses how many laps they’d like to run. 10 laps (5k) earns a special prize.
Please sign up to help out! We need help setting up, tracking laps and handing out bracelets, and keeping the runners fueled by bringing healthy snacks as well as sweet treats for the post-race bake sale!
CP Smith Skate Night
Bring the family for an evening of ice skating at Leddy Arena.
All are welcome! Suggested donation of $5 to help us cover the cost of skate rentals.
Students are required to wear a helmet (bike or ski helmets are okay!).
All children must be accompanied by an adult; no drop-offs.
CP Smith Play: the Wizard of Oz
Join us for the performances of this year’s production, the Wizard of Oz!
Two public performances will occur the first weekend of February.
Holiday Extravaganza
Get ready for the annual CP Smith Holiday Extravaganza!
On December 8th, students will have a chance to do their holiday shopping at CP Smith. Each teacher will sign up for a 20-minute slot throughout the day, and students will peruse and buy donated items at an extremely discounted rate. All funds from the Holiday Extravaganza will go to support spring PTO events, such as the school play, the end of year picnic, and the yearbook.
Donations for the sale will be accepted through Friday, December 5th. Drop of slightly used goods that would be appropriate for a sale to the main office. This includes toys, books, games, jewelry, household decor, holiday items and decorations, wrapping paper and ribbons, etc. Items must be in a box or bag, and we cannot accept any soft items (clothes, stuffed animals, blankets) OR any furniture.
We need a lot of volunteers (48!!!) to make this event a success! We will need volunteer parents/caregivers on:
Sunday, December 7th to collect and sort donated items, and to set up the tables for the sale and
Monday, December 8th to help the students shop and restock items on the tables throughout the day.

Recess After Dark
Join us for an adults-only party and fundraiser for the CP Smith community. Come for food, drinks (cash bar), music, community, and an incredible silent auction, featuring items from many Vermont and Burlington-based businesses.

Tickets are $25 each (or more if you’re feeling generous!). Payment options: Venmo (@cpsmith-pto), cash in an envelope to the CP Smith main office, or cash at the door.

Harvest Costume Dance
The CP Smith PTO is excited to host a Harvest Costume Dance on Friday, October 24th! Students and families are invited to come dressed in their favorite costumes for an evening of music, dancing, and festive fun. This is a family-friendly event filled with spooky spirit, laughter, and community connection—perfect for celebrating the season together.
We need 20+ volunteers to make this event happen. Volunteer duties include providing bake sale goodies and healthy snacks, event set-up and break-down, and helping out with games and activities. Sign Up Here!
Pumpkin Raffle
We are excited for the annual CP Smith Pumpkin Raffle! Pumpkins will be decorated by CP Smith staff and displayed in the front lobby.
On the mornings of Tuesday, October 21st and Wednesday, October 22nd, parents/caregivers will distribute and sell raffle tickets: each student gets 2, and beyond that they are $.25 each. These volunteers will help the the students fill out their information and put their ticket(s) in the pumpkin(s) they hope to win.
On Friday October 24th’s morning meeting, the winning ticket will be pulled for each decorated pumpkin and the winning students get to take them home!

CP Smith Book Fair
Join us for the annual CP Smith Book Fair, held in the school library.
Students will have the opportunity to shop the Book Fair during the school day Wednesday, October 15th (8:30-2:00pm) and Thursday, October 16th (8:30 - 3:00pm).
Families are welcome to shop the Book Fair from 5:30 - 6:30pm on Thursday, October 16th.
Proceeds from the Book Fair directly support CP’s Smith library program.

2025 CP Smith PTO Awareness Campaign
Every contribution helps support CP Smith PTO programs that directly benefit our students, teachers, and school programs. Annually, the PTO hosts about one event a month for the full school community, provides classroom funds and mini-grants for teachers for specific initiatives, supplies, or field trips, produces the school play, and creates the yearbook.
