Who we are
All parents and caregivers of students at C.P. Smith are a part of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)! We welcome whatever level of engagement and participation you are able to offer throughout the school year.
We are the masterminds behind the fun: school fairs, movie nights, raffles, and dance parties. We also champion learning and growth through exciting activities, including art projects, science experiments, and field trips. It’s like having a team of superheroes who are always ready to lend a hand.
You do not need an official title or role to attend a meeting or be a part of the magic; all are welcome! Simply being a helper can make a huge impact. Whether you’re setting up for a party or helping with a fundraiser, every bit of help makes a difference. Join us at our meetings, held the third Monday of each month in the library from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. We provide pizza and childcare so you don’t have to worry about dinner or a sitter to join!
Being part of the PTO is a fantastic way to make new friends, connect with your school community, and have fun while making your child or children’s school experience better for everyone.

Classroom Funds & Mini Grants
Classroom Funds
Each classroom teacher receives an annual allotment of $150 and each specials teacher receives an annual allotment of $100 to support classroom needs. These funds can be spent at the teacher’s discretion; just submit your receipts for reimbursement to treasurer@cpsmithpto.com. We ask that classroom funds be used first before applying for a mini grant. Classroom funds do not roll over to the next year if not utilized.
Mini Grants
Teachers may apply for mini grants on a rolling basis to support larger or special projects. Mini grant requests are considered and discussed at each monthly PTO meeting; we ask that requests are submitted far enough in advance of actual need of the funds to accommodate that schedule. In some cases, the PTO may be able to fund part, but not all, of a request; when that happens, we’ll work with you to help identify additional funding sources.
Please submit your mini grant request here and follow up with an email to cpsmithpto@gmail.com.
