Get Involved

There are many ways to be involved with the CP Smith PTO. Whether you’re interested in serving as a PTO officer, providing input at the monthly meetings, or just stepping in to lend a hand at an event, we value any and all contributions of time and energy.

We host over 10 events throughout the school year, as well as producing the school play and the yearbook: we always need help pulling these off successfully. We ask that all caregivers consider signing up to lead or help with at least one event annually.

Read below for a description of the annual PTO events and what type of support is needed. Fill out this form to sign up to help out for one of the fall 2025 planned events.

2025 - 2026 PTO Events and Volunteer Needs

August:

  • Popsicle Party - a chance to welcome students and caregivers back into the school year with popsicles and community.

October:

  • Book Fair - 10/15 & 10/16
    Held in the library during school and on several evenings. We need help with set up and break down, and checking people/students out at the register.

  • Harvest Costume Dance - 10/24
    Dress up and come join the party! We need help with set up and break down, providing baked goods or snacks, and making the event run smoothly.

  • Pumpkin Raffle - week of 10/27
    Teachers and school staff can decorate a pumpkin. Students get raffle tickets to earn a chance at winning their favorite pumpkin and taking it home! We need help with pumpkin transport and running the raffle event during morning school hours.

November:

  • Recess After Dark - 11/15
    New event! Adults-only party and silent auction, held at the Elks Lodge on North Avenue. We need help with set up and break down and running the auction.

December:

  • Holiday extravaganza - dates TBD
    We solicit donations of gently used toys, books, jewelry, etc. to provide an opportunity for all students to “shop” for holiday gifts for their loved ones at high discount. We need help with storing, sorting, and organizing donations as well as running the event day of.
